Jodi has been a part of emergency services for over 10 years. She began her career as a volunteer firefighter with the Kentville Fire Department and later became a graduate of the Nova Scotia Firefighters School, Pre-employment Program. She is currently a volunteer firefighter with Halifax Fire.
Jodi attended Nova Scotia Community College and Acadia University and is also a former member of the Canadian Forces.
She is certified as a Level 2 FireFighter and Instructor. She also has certifications in Hazardous Materials and as an Incident Scene Safety Officer.
Jodi also volunteers and acts as a role model with Techsploration to help keep young women interested in math and science and encourage women to work in the science trades and technology related occupations.
Along with her training in emergency services she is also a diver and a volunteer with St. John Ambulance and has spent six years working in building construction as a project manager for a restoration finish work company.
