Lynelle Vetsch has been in the fire service for over 13 years. She is certified by the National Association of Fire Investigators as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, and also holds certification in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1033 Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigator. She is a Level I Certified Fire Inspector through the Fire Inspectors Association of Nova Scotia, and a NFPA Level II Certified Fire Instructor. Vetsch also holds a diploma in Journalism from MacEwan University.
Vetsch began her fire service career first as a volunteer firefighter and later as a career firefighter, with the Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Service in Nova Scotia. She then moved into a Fire Safety Consultant role with a fire protection engineering firm in Halifax, where she created fire safety plans, conducted fire safety training presentations, and assisted with code reviews of a variety of businesses.
Currently Vetsch is a Senior Instructor at the Nova Scotia Firefighters School where she manages the Pre-Employment Program. Vetsch is on the IFSTA Fire and Emergency Services Instructor Ninth Edition Validation Committee, and is enrolled as a student at Eastern Kentucky University in the Fire Arson and Explosion Investigation program.
