Linus has been in the fire service for over 33 years. He is certified by the National Association of Fire Investigators as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, and also holds certification in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1033 Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigator.
He received his Certification in several competencies from the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress, Oklahoma State University of which include NFPA 1001 Level III, NFPA 1033 Fire Investigation, NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor Level II, NFPA 1031Fire Inspector level I, NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Awareness, Operations & Technician Level, NFPA 1002 Driver/Operator, NFPA 1521 Incident Safety Officer, NFPA and NFPA 1021 Fire Department Company Officer. Linus has also been trained and holds a certificate for CBRN Advanced & Live Agent Level Responder.
Linus began his career in the fire service as a volunteer member of the Grand Falls Fire Department and later as career Firefighter/Dispatcher with Grand Falls-Windsor Fire Department in Newfoundland & Labrador. He then started work as a Fire Protection Officer with NL Fire & Emergency Services (Fire Commissioners Office) where he is presently employed for the past 18 years.
In addition to his role as Fire Protection Officer, Linus is a dedicated Volunteer Firefighter and Training Officer with Bishop’s Falls Fire Rescue.
